XXII. Dominica secunda post octavas Paschae, Oratio. Modicum et jam non videbitis me 1. Domine Jesu Christe, summa sapientia, post modicum gustum tuae illuminationis, nos ad potentiam duc bonae actionis, ut mereamur iterum gustare dulcedinem contemplationis. Non gaudeamus cum hoc mundo, ne plus petamus loco, tempore, causa, vel de re ipsa. Sed tamen cum affectu nos concepisti, cum onere portasti, cum labore peperisti et cum dolore: ploremus et nos lacrymis contritionis pro peccatis propriis et alienis, affectionis pro incolatu praesentis miseriae, devotionis pro dilatione patriae: ubi tristitia nostra vertetur in gaudium, quando iterum videbis nos, cor nostrum, et gaudium nostrum nemo tollet a nobis. Amen.
XXII. Second Sunday after the Octaves of Easter, Prayer. A little while, and now you will not see me 1. Lord Jesus Christ, highest wisdom, after a little taste of your illumination, lead us to the power of good action, so that we may deserve again to taste the sweetness of contemplation. Let us not rejoice with this world, lest we seek more in place, time, cause, or concerning the thing itself. But nevertheless, since you conceived us with affection, carried us with burden, and brought us forth with labor and with sorrow, let us also weep with tears of contrition for our own and others' sins, with tears of affection for the dwelling in present misery, with tears of devotion for the delay of the homeland, where our sadness will be turned into joy, when you will see us again, our heart, and no one will take our joy from us. Amen.
