XI. Dominica in Sexagesima, Oratio. Cum turba plurima convenirent, et de civitatibus properarent 1. Domine Jesu Christe, fac me exire de veteri vita mea: ne semen verbi tui quod in meo intellectu boni propositi, quod in meo affectu boni operis, quod in meo actu seminasti, comedatur a volucribus inanis gloriae: ne conculcetur in via assiduitatis, ne areat in petra duritiae et obstinationis, et ne suffocetur in spinis sollicitudinis: sed potius in terra bona et optima cordis humilis et patientis et hilaris gratissimum fructum afferat in patientia. Amen.
XI. Sunday in Sexagesima, Prayer. When a very great crowd were coming together, and were hastening from the cities 1. Lord Jesus Christ, make me go out from my old life, lest the seed of your word, which you have sown in my understanding of good purpose, in my affection of good work, and in my act, be eaten by the birds of empty glory; lest it be trampled in the way of assiduity, lest it dry up on the rock of hardness and obstinacy, and lest it be choked in the thorns of solicitude; but rather, in the good and best earth of a humble, patient, and cheerful heart, may it bring forth most pleasing fruit in patience. Amen.
