IX. Dominica tertia post Octavas Epiphaniae, Oratio. Ascendente Jesu in naviculam 1. Domine Jesu Christe, qui naviculam crucis ascendisti ut sequerentur te Discipuli tui: cupiens te sequi cum Discipulis, meis affectibus scilicet: ecce motus magnus tentationis factus est in mari cordis mei, ita ut te dormiente, gratia tua, sicut tempestate in me navicula animae meae jam operiatur concupiscentiae fluctibus: clamo igitur per orationem, traho per desiderium, pulso per devotionem, per operationem excitans te: surge in adjutorium, pelle timorem, auge fidem, impera ventis, suggestionum flatibus, et mari, motui sensualitatis: ut fiat tranquillitas magna in mari pectoris mei: et omnes meae internae cogitationes admirantes virtutem tuam laudent in aeternum. Amen.
IX. Third Sunday after the Octaves of Epiphany, Prayer. As Jesus was going up into the little boat 1. Lord Jesus Christ, who went up into the little boat of the cross so that your Disciples might follow you: desiring to follow you with the Disciples, namely my affections, behold, a great movement of temptation has arisen in the sea of my heart, so that while you, your grace, are sleeping, as by a tempest in me the little boat of my soul is now covered by the waves of concupiscence. Therefore I cry through prayer, I draw through desire, I knock through devotion, rousing you through operation: rise up for help, drive away fear, increase faith, command the winds, the blasts of suggestions, and the sea, the movement of sensuality, so that a great tranquility may be made in the sea of my breast, and all my inward thoughts, marveling at your power, may praise you forever. Amen.
