17. Ostendit etiam se esse hospitam et receptricem generalem Dei et hominum largissimam. 18. Ostendit etiam se esse Reginam caelorum. Job, XXIX, 25: Cumque sederem, regaliter, potenter, et sublimiter, quasi rex, id est, regina, uxor, et mater Regis aeterni, circumstante exercitu peccatorum, eram tamen maerentium consolator, id est, Maria consolatrix.
19. Item, Ipsa est aquila singularis, de cujus laude et praeconio loquitur Dominus ad Job, XXXIX, 27 et 30: Numquid ad praeceptum tuum, sicut ad meum, qui quidquid praecipio, inspiro, elevabitur, in natura, gratia, et in gloria etiam, et in omni praerogativa, aquila, id est, Maria, super omnes choros Angelorum: et in arduis ponet nidum suum?... 1. Regina omnium creaturarum vocatur a Salomone, sapientia. Proverb. VII, 4: Dicit sapientiae, id est, Mariae: Soror mea es. Sicut enim summam humilitatem habuit, ita summam sapientiam, etc. Ubi humilitas, ibi et sapientia. Sed
mercy grew with me, great, pious, and diffused. And from my mother's womb it went out with me, abundantly and commonly.
15. She also showed that she cannot despise anyone, although he may be a sinner, provided nevertheless that he seeks mercy. Job XXXI, 19: If I despised the one perishing. 17. She also showed herself to be a hostess and general receiver, most generous, of God and of men. Job XXXI, 32: The stranger did not remain outside: she offered the lodging of the virginal womb to the Son of God, and to the pilgrim also the lodging of grace and mercy and glory. My door lay open to the traveler, swiftly, totally, and frequently.
18. She also showed herself to be the Queen of the heavens. Job XXIX, 25: And when I sat royally, powerfully, and sublimely, as a king, that is, as queen, wife, and mother of the eternal King, while an army of sinners stood around, nevertheless I was the consoler of those grieving, that is, Mary the comforter.
19. Likewise, she is the singular eagle, concerning whose praise and proclamation the Lord speaks to Job, XXXIX, 27 and 30: Will the eagle, that is, Mary, at your command, as at mine, who inspire whatever I command, be lifted up in nature, grace, and also in glory, and in every prerogative, above all the choirs of Angels, and will she set her nest in high places?... Her young will lick blood, and wherever the corpse will be, immediately she is present. The Gloss: "Christ sitting in heaven is the refreshment of the just."
