IV Regum, XIII, 17 et seq., dixit Eliseus ad Joas, regem Israel: Aperi fenestram orientalem, id est, Mariam, per quam intrat lux, et vita: sicut per fenestram occidentalem, id est, Hevam, intravit mors, et tenebrae. Cumque aperuisset, quod factum est, quando virgo manens incorrupta mundo peperit salvatorem, dixit Eliseus: Jace sagittam, id est, Christum, quia ex ea ortus est, et natus. Et jecit. 3. Likewise, in her after God is commended readiness, especially in the most swift and superabundant repayment of services spent upon her. Tobit IV, 15: Whoever shall have worked anything for you, O Mary, whether just or sinner, for the praise and honor of you and of your Son, restore the reward to him immediately: royally, because you are queen; abundantly, because you are most rich; usefully, because she is most faithful; and let not the wages of your hireling remain with you.
