XLV. Dominica decima septima post festum Trinitatis, Oratio. Cum intraret Jesus in domum cujusdam principis Pharisaeorum sabbato manducare panem ¹. Domine Jesu Christe, separa nos a malis, da nobis sabbatum internae quietis, ut intrans in domum nostrae conscientiae incorpores nos tibi: conforta in nobis vim digestivam spiritualem, calore charitatis, virtute verbi, opere misericordiae, exemplo bonae operationis, et assiduitate orationis: ut cibus salutis digestus in stomacho nostri intellectus, digeratur et in hepate affectus, et conveniens nutrimentum ad omnia membra bonae operationis transmittatur. Domine, qui nos ad religionis et ad convivium sacrae Scripturae invitasti, doce nos per veram cordis, oris et operis humilitatem, recumbere in novissimo loco: ut liberemur a curiositate superstitionis, sanemur a morbo cupiditatis, et eripiamur a puteo periculosae negationis, ut glorificemur in die resurrectionis coram simul discumbentibus. Amen.

XLV. Seventeenth Sunday after the Feast of Trinity, Prayer. When Jesus entered into the house of a certain ruler of the Pharisees on the sabbath to eat bread ¹. Lord Jesus Christ, separate us from evils, give us the sabbath of inward rest, so that entering into the house of our conscience you may incorporate us into yourself. Strengthen in us the spiritual digestive power, with the heat of charity, the virtue of the word, the work of mercy, the example of good operation, and assiduity of prayer, so that the food of salvation, digested in the stomach of our understanding, may also be digested in the liver of affection, and suitable nourishment may be transmitted to all the members of good operation. Lord, who invited us to religion and to the banquet of sacred Scripture, teach us through true humility of heart, mouth, and work to recline in the lowest place, so that we may be freed from the curiosity of superstition, healed from the disease of cupidity, and snatched from the pit of dangerous denial, so that we may be glorified on the day of resurrection before those reclining together. Amen.
