XXV. Dominica infra octavas Ascensionis, Oratio. Amen.

XXV. Sunday within the Octaves of Ascension, Prayer. When the Paraclete has come 1. Lord Jesus Christ, because, on account of the sin of our first parents, our irascible power contracted a proneness of sinning, or depravity, send us the Paraclete as defender against worldly persecutions, illumination against errors and heretical depravities, charity against carnal concupiscence; may he bear witness concerning the Father through power, concerning the Son through wisdom, concerning himself through goodness, so that we also, when they put us outside the synagogues, or when perplexities also befall us, may bear witness through voluntary endurance of sufferings, we who are a living oblation to you with you. Amen.
