XVII. Dominica in Passione, Oratio. Quis ex vobis arguet me de peccato 1? Domine Jesu Christe, qui ad audiendum verbum Dei invitas nos, a nobilitate dicentis, veritate dicti, et utilitate audientis: doce nos inimici falso objecto resistere, contumelias et injurias patienter sufferre, propriam gloriam non quaerere, veritatem vitae et doctrinae et justitiae propter scandalum vitandum non omittere, propter iteratam contumeliam et injuriam a praedicatione non desistere. Domine Jesu Christe, summa veritas, bonitas, justitia, misericordia, largitas, munditia, vitae sobrietas, humilitas, charitas: qui lapidaris, et absconderis a mendacibus, malitiosis, injustis, impiis, cupidis, luxuriosis, gulosis, superbis, et odiosis, ne exeas a templo animae nostrae: redde nos corrigibiles, et impollutos, et tecum per omnia concordantes. Amen.
XVII. Sunday in Passiontide, Prayer. Which of you will convict me of sin 1? Lord Jesus Christ, who invite us to hear the word of God from the nobility of the speaker, the truth of the thing spoken, and the usefulness of the hearer: teach us to resist the false objection of the enemy, to endure reproaches and injuries patiently, not to seek our own glory, not to omit the truth of life and doctrine and justice because scandal must be avoided, and not to desist from preaching because of repeated reproach and injury. Lord Jesus Christ, highest truth, goodness, justice, mercy, generosity, cleanness, sobriety of life, humility, charity, who are stoned and hidden from liars, malicious persons, unjust persons, impious persons, greedy persons, lustful persons, gluttonous persons, proud persons, and hateful persons, do not go out from the temple of our soul; render us correctable, unstained, and concordant with you through all things. Amen.
